LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas valley breakfast lovers will soon be able to sample “million-dollar bacon” with the expansion of a Florida-based breakfast chain this summer.
First Watch, a breakfast, brunch and lunch chain, opened their first location in Pacific Grove, California, in 1983 before moving to Bradenton, Florida in 1986. This week, representatives for the company told 8 News Now they signed the leases for two locations in the Las Vegas valley, a first for Nevada.
“We had heard from enough people come to come to Vegas, come see us in Vegas.” Matt Eisenacher, First Watch chief brand officer, said in an interview with 8 News Now. “We’re pretty well known in the southeast, and people visit and experience this there and we hear a lot of people—they want us to come to their home market as well.”
Eisenacher said the company has been watching the Las Vegas market for some time and positioned their new locations in parts of town that appeal to all—embracing the suburbs.
“We like to be thought of as a place for families,” he said. “If you have someone in your party that maybe wants a mimosa for breakfast, we have that available for you. We really want to be known as a great place for families, great place for people connecting.”
Both locations are expected to have a mural inspired by the surrounding community and create approximately 30 new jobs. The hiring will start approximately 30 days prior to opening.
All items at First Watch are made to order without microwaves, heat lamps or deep fryers, according to a First Watch release. Eisenacher said the business focuses on “fresh” ingredients for items like their lemon ricotta pancakes, superfood kale salad, and pesto chicken quinoa bowl, among others.
“Our food ethos is referred to as ‘follow the sun’,” he said. “It’s really the seasonal menu that also pays off fresh and sets us apart.”
First Watch is open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. The business signed a lease in Henderson for 10415 S. Eastern Avenue and the location at 1020 East Craig Road is expected to open this summer.
“[Vegas] is a really rich breakfast scene,” Eisenacher said.
