LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A former assistant principal at a Clark County School District high school has been arrested.
Hearley Smith, 54, faces charges related to sexual misconduct with a student, according to Clark County School District Police.

The arrest stems from an investigation initiated at Canyon Springs High School Feb. 24. Smith last worked at the school as an assistant principal but “separated from the CCSD” and will no longer be allowed on campus, CCSD police stated on Friday.
Court records show Smith faces the following charges:
- Two counts of kidnapping in the first degree
- 10 counts of lewdness by person older than 18 in the presence of child or vulnerable person
- 10 counts of school employee engaging in a sexual act with a pupil 16 or older
