LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas valley drivers are voicing frustrations about rough road conditions along the southbound 215 between Decatur Boulevard and Rainbow Boulevard.
Reports of potholes and uneven pavement in the area have prompted numerous complaints to Clark County officials.
“It’s dangerous. It’s not safe for me. It’s not safe for my children, for other drivers,” said Amalia Haupu, a Las Vegas commuter.
Haupu, who drives frequently on the 215, said the deteriorating roads have taken a toll on her car.
“I’ve gone through at least three tires and probably three to six months.,” she said, adding that Las Vegas’s infrastructure has struggled to keep pace with the city’s growing population.
“I know Las Vegas is expanding, and I don’t think that they’re quite ready for it,” she said.
Other drivers shared similar concerns.
“Those potholes don’t exactly identify themselves,” said Edwin Villegas, another local commuter. “All of a sudden, they’re just there right in front of you.”
Clark County has acknowledged the problem and is working to address it. However, the ongoing road repairs and construction have added to the challenges.
“Potholes everywhere, especially on the freeway. Construction everywhere.,” said Terence Watts, a Las Vegas resident for over 20 years. “It’s actually a mess.”
The county encourages residents to report issues through its Fix It portal, available at ClarkCountyNV.gov/fixit.
