Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn scored a career-high 42 points and Tyrin Jones made a go-ahead layup with 12 seconds left in overtime to rally UNLV to an 85-83 victory over UNR on Saturday night.

Gibbs-Lawhorn made 14 of 22 shots with eight 3-pointers and all six of his free throws for the Rebels (15-14, 10-8 Mountain West Conference). UNLV trailed 74-71 when Gibbs-Lawhorn made a game-tying 3-pointer with 33.4 seconds remaining.

It marked the fifth time this season Gibbs-Lawhorn has scored 30 or more points, and the junior guard has now eclipsed 20 points in nine consecutive games — reaching at least 30 in four of the last five. His 42-point outburst against UNR was the most by a UNLV player since Bryce Hamilton matched that total in 2022 at Colorado State.

Jacob Bannarbie added 15 points and six rebounds for UNLV, while Jones scored 12 off the bench. Howie Fleming Jr. added game highs of 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Vaughn Weems scored a career-high 30 for the Wolf Pack (19-10, 11-7). Tayshawn Comer scored 15 but made only 3 of 12 shots, while Elijah Price added 10 points.

Weems had 12 points in the first half to help UNR take a 37-35 lead into halftime. 

UNLV has won four of games games against UNR at home. The game featured nine lead changes and 11 ties throughout.
