LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County has surpassed the number of fatal crashes it had at the same time last year, according to a report released by the Office of Traffic Safety.
By the end of September, there were 209 fatalities in Clark County as a result of crashes which compares to 185 at the same time in 2023. Of the 209 deaths, 72 were pedestrians, which is up 36% from a year ago, 41 were motorcyclists, which is up just over 5%, and nine were bicyclists, which is up 80%.
As of Tuesday, Oct. 8, Las Vegas Metropolitan police reported 119 of the fatalities were in its jurisdiction.
The report shows fatal crashes are up less than 2% statewide.
