LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is dead after being hit while crossing the street just east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the report of the crash on East Flamingo Road, just east of Koval Lane.

According to police, the scene and video surveillance evidence showed that a 2019 Infiniti QX60 was heading east on Flamingo Road, coming from the F1 overpass bridge. The unidentified 34-year-old man was crossing Flamingo Road outside of a designated crosswalk when the front of the Infiniti hit him.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Authorities stated that the Infiniti’s driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

This man’s death marks the 149th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2024.
