LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Cooling stations across the Las Vegas valley are set to open Friday after the National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning to the area.
The cooling stations will be open Friday, May 30, through Saturday, May 31 as temperatures are set to climb 10 to 15 degrees above normal, according to NWS Las Vegas. The impacted areas including Las Vegas, Pahrump, Barstow, and Lake Mead.

The cooling stations will be available to people experiencing homelessness and others in the community in need of cool, indoor spaces to escape the heat.
