LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — More than 700 families had a chance to celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and all the trimmings thanks to volunteers and Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada.
The annual event, now in its 59th year, helps some of the most vulnerable people who live in the Las Vegas valley. The men, women, and children who came to the feast at St. Lied Vincent Dining Facility enjoyed a meal of turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, and pumpkin pie.
More than 50 volunteers helped make the meal possible. Las Vegas Mayor-elect Shelley Berkley volunteered to help.
“It adds some humanity to the day,” she said.
8NewsNow.com photojournalist Tim Zeitlow attended the event and captured it on camera.
