LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcycle and a car collided in north Las Vegas on Saturday night, resulting in one person’s death and another with minor injuries, police said.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of the crash at the intersection of West Ann Road and Old Grove Way.

LVMPD said evidence from the scene and video surveillance showed that a 2016 Victory Vegas motorcycle was traveling eastbound on West Ann Road when a 2018 Kia Forte, heading west and approaching Old Grove Way, turned left into the motorcycle’s path, resulting in the crash.

Upon impact, the front of the motorcycle hit the front of the Kia, ejecting the rider onto the roadway. Police said emergency responders arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene, determining he was beyond medical resuscitation.

The Kia driver was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. Police reported that impairment was not a factor in the crash.

The rider’s death marks the 115th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction for 2024.
