LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two brothers face murder charges for allegedly shooting into a crowd of people outside of a Las Vegas hookah lounge, killing a man, according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators obtained.
Anjele McCullough, 24; and Terrance McCullough, 24, both face charges of open murder, records said. Police identified the pair as brothers with Terreance McCullough’s birth year indicating he is older.
The shooting on Feb. 9 happened outside of the Secret Lounge near Jones Boulevard and Twain Avenue. Kaleo Kekahuna, 46, died from his injuries, the Clark County coroner’s office said.
Witnesses told officers that an argument started inside the lounge and a security person told several people to leave, police said. A fight erupted in the parking lot and a man pulled out a gun and fired into the group, striking two people.
Kekahuna regularly attended the lounge and worked as a security guard at other establishments, police said. Around 9 p.m. the night of the shooting, two people sitting in two different parties got into an argument, which required security to separate the two groups, police said. A witness said Kekahuna attempted to “diffuse the situation” before the shooting.
Police obtained surveillance video, which they said showed a lounge security member pat down one of the brothers, but “not pat down” his front waistband, documents said. Later, while outside the business, police said the shooter pulled a gun from his waistband and “fired towards the crowd and towards the business multiple times.”
Police quickly identified the person as Anjele McCullough, they said. After arresting him at an east valley apartment, police obtained more video, which they said shows both brothers “shooting into the crowd of people” and running back to one of their cars, documents said.
Officers later arrested Terrance McCullough driving a car with suspended license plates, they said. Both brothers remained in custody Wednesday without bail.
