LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The City of Henderson will soon make way for a new casino as development continues along Boulder Highway.
Boyd Gaming’s newest casino, Cadence Crossing, will be built adjacent to the master-planned community of Cadence in Henderson and feature 450 slots with several food and drink options.
Once Cadence is built, it will eventually take the place of the long-standing Jokers Wild Casino. A staple within the Henderson community for over 30 years.
“I enjoy the gambling, and I like the food, so I’m going to be sad to see it go,” Lisa Delmastro a Jokers Wild Casino customer, shared.
The new build follows several upgrades currently in the works with Henderson’s 7.5-mile Reimagine Boulder Highway Project designed to improve the infrastructure in the area.
The new state-of-the-art casino hotel is just another addition to making Boulder Highway a place people want to be.
“We stay away from the strip and we go to the local casinos,” Theresa Barros shared with 8 News Now.
Locals such as Theresa and Danny Barros have been customers at Jokers Wild for decades, and while they are known to gamble, they said it’s the food that has them coming back. Something they hope Cadence Crossing can live up to.
“I’m excited to see newer things happening in the area,” Danny Barros said. “Believe it or not, we come for the food. It’s cheaper to eat in the casinos than it is to go to the grocery store or go to a regular restaurant.”
The goal is for Cadence Crossing Casino to open sometime in 2026.
Boyd Gaming will host a formal groundbreaking ceremony April 3 to celebrate the commencement of construction.
