LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Boulder City staple is shutting its doors for the last time at the end of the month. Milo’s Cellar announced on a Friday night Facebook post that the winery and inn will be closing as the owners focus on their families.

A few decades ago, a Yacht Club met on the patio of where Milo’s would be. Boulder City Yachter Kendall Kendrick was there.

“This used to be an antique shop back in the day. And they used to have dolls and everything in the windows. And then a guy by the name of David grabbed Milo and had a dream to open up something here downtown,” Kendrick said.

That “something” they opened up became Milo’s Cellar. A winery, restaurant, and inn that visitors and Boulder City locals like Lynn Fielding know as one of the icons of the city’s main street.

“It makes me feel sad because they’re just part of the history of Boulder City, and my daughter got married here in Boulder City. And every year on her anniversary, she used to like to go to their bed and breakfast there,” Fielding said.

The two ownership families have decided to close their doors on Nov. 30 for respective reasons. The Hurst Family — Milo wants to focus on his health.

The Clintons are getting ready to grow their family.

“The reason why we moved here is because we wanted to have a family here,” Clinton said.

Clinton also expressed her love and gratitude to Milo’s patrons and the staff, saying they embraced her and her husband with open arms.

As the closing date approaches, Milo’s will start offering special deals on their extensive wine collection, and it’s last call for their family-recipe Sangria.

You’ve got until the end of the month to grab a bottle and raise a glass to toast to the Milo’s health, family and business.

“Milo, if you’re out there and you’re watching Channel 8, I love you my friend, and when you get settled next week, I’m going to come see you. But we’re going to miss your spot here in Boulder City,” Kendrick said.
