It’s October, and October is a special month: Vegas time!
Kelly and I are at it again, 10 nights in town.
We just checked in for our flights tomorrow (flying Delta BRU – JFK, then onwards JFK – LAS) for a total door-to-door time of 21-ish hours if nothings goes wrong.
We have a 3:35 hour layover in JFK to make sure to clear immigrations, and our MPC is set up (last time in March when we visited NYC, this got us through at JFK in under 20 minutes).
So what are we up to?
– Kick it off with 3 nights at Resorts World. Room type unknown. I’ve got a confirmation email for a basic Conrad room, my Hilton-app shows a basic Crockfords room and my host and I sent emails back and forth about possible suites. We’ll just head to the Crockfords check-in and wing it from there. I’ve got $300 Freeplay, $60 dining, and host said she will take at least another $100 of roomcharges off the bill (promised upfront).
– Follow-up with some downtown at Circa, where my host set me up with a room for 2 nights (unknown room type but I don’t really care, all rooms are great at Circa). I have $300 Freeplay and $150 Food and Beverage here.
– Part III takes us to Le Bleau de la Fontaine, aka Fontainebleau where we are staying 2 nights in a Gold King Best View room. I have $300 Freeplay here (starting to see a theme…?), no F&B, but I do have the $100 Silver dining credit.
– We are finishing off with three nights at Aria, in a Panoramic Corner Tower Suite. Freeplay is a whopping $750 here, plus I have $300 F&B, and I have about $400 in points with MGM as well.
We have a ton of great plans to eat, at places all over, including some off Strip things. I won’t list them all but I’m sure you’ll see them as we make our way from place to place.
We have a rental car with Hertz reserved (Large SUV, should give us something like a Chevy Tahoe), and will probably take a few day trips.
Death Valley was on the list but with the recent floodings, and road closures, I don’t think thats a good idea right now.
There’s lots of other options. I have a few ideas and we’ll see the morning of what we are up to.
Plans that are set in stone include:
– UNLV college football at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday October 11.
– NASCAR on Sunday October 12
– Drinks at Fontainebleau followed by a slot group pull at Fontainebleau (look in the meetup section, feel free to join) @Christina6001 set up on October 13
Since coming home from Texas two and a half months ago, I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’m sure I will gain some back during this trip (to be fair, this is already calculated in). I haven’t had a lot of greasy foods, nor did I have any alcohol (besides just one beer once) in that timeframe (I don’t really drink a lot at home anyway), so you can BET I’m looking forward to drinking and eating as well.
@LovablePenguin just for the record: Penguins are very welcome in this TR
Now off to work for a final long day. If I look back at last year, my last day of work on Monday had us in bed around 1 am, and we had to wake up at 4 am. This time, I only have to get up at like 5:30 am, so I’ll get a few hours of sleep extra, but regardless: tomorrow will be a day of running on fumes and Vegas energy.
