Hello fellow VMBers! Back up to Atlantic City for the yearly trip with my buddy, who was celebrating his 50th birthday. First stop, however, was Baltimore to see my Mariners take on the Orioles. The plan was to only stay for an hour and then hit the road, which turned out to be the right decision because right after we left, a storm came in and delayed the game for several hours. As we were leaving our seats, I saw a guy who looked very familiar, and after some Insta searching, I confirmed that it was Sen-Dog from the group Cypress Hill, who was performing in Bmore later that night.

After a stormy drive to AC, arrived at Borgata and checked into my comped Classic King room – tried to get a MGM Tower room at check-in but was told they were all sold out. Met up with two of my buddy’s friends and slotted around Borgata for a bit, pouring out a little liquor for the old Gypsy Bar, which has been turned into the Baccarat room and Noodles restaurant. BJ was $25, other games were $15 and saw maybe one $10 3-Card table. The next morning we rolled over to Ocean, because my friend likes to play Heads Up Hold Em, and I believe and that’s the only place with that particular game in AC. Turns out we were a little too eager, as the pit boss told us the tables wouldn’t open until noon. So, some more slots until the tables opened. Some Fridays at Ocean you can find $5 carny games but everything was $10 this time. Later that evening we hit Boogie Nights at the Trop and a fortuitous (?) call of tails steered us away from Stilleto and back to Borgata to wrap up the evening.

Saturday got in a little boardwalk action with lunch at Landshark and then a boardwalk stroll to Ballys/Caesars to watch a little preseason football at the weird Wild West annex. Beach/boardwalk was, as usual, very busy. Caesars has the sportsbook chairs all blocked off and the security guard told us once you make a $10 bet, they’d open the gate and let you have a seat. Later, played a little VP/Keno at the BetMGM book at Borgata, but they were setting up for the UFC fight and charging $75 (!) for admittance. We made our way back to Ocean and Nola’s Bar to see a band that we’ve seen several times at Gypsy, 3AM Tokyo. They do a great mix of R&B/rap/pop from the 90s to now. Crowd at Nola’s skewed much younger than Gypsy, but still had fun. In between sets, did some slots and was fortunate (or maybe unfortunate) to nail a handpay on the Huff n Puff Grand Palaces machine for just $2.43 over the limit. Gave the slot attendant a tip and she almost had tears in her eyes after doing a double take, so I guess that’s a rare occurrence.

Sunday morning before heading back, went back on the Borgata floor and found some $5 3-Card, so got in a few hands. On my last one, decided to play blind. Dealer turns over a flush, so I figure I’m screwed, but turns out I had a straight flush of the same suit and was only one card off from a six-card straight flush. But can’t complain with a big hit to close out the trip. Every casino we went in was busy, so at least on summer weekends, AC is thriving. Thanks for reading and happy to answer any questions.
