Hey, it’s me—the guy who posted last week about not getting excited for Vegas and planning to cancel my trip…

I’m sitting in Chicago’s second busiest airport writing this, but guess where I’m headed today?

Yes, this glorious sh*t hole we all know and love!

Actually, I won’t be in Vegas long today. As soon as I land at LAS I’ll be heading to the rental car center, then aiming my motorized chariot toward the Colorado River basin with a brief overnight stay in Laughlin. (Pronounced Loff-Lin for those who don’t know) @ffejry @NotFromConcentrate

I’ll be staying at the Aquarius Resort and Casino. They’ve been offering me 2 free nights for a couple of years now, despite the fact that I haven’t dropped a single dollar there since my first visit—and quite honestly I don’t intend to start now.

So why go to Laughlin if I’m not gambling or staying more than 18 hours at the very most?

Glad you asked!

1. The CET Diamond Celebration Dinner
I’m cashing that in tonight at The Range Steakhouse inside Harrah’s. I actually really enjoy this place—river views, solid service, and while the prices have crept up, it’s still a solid value.

2. CET Free-Play Grab
I’ve got a nice chunk of free-play (which I take as reward credits) waiting at both Tropicana and Harrah’s. Taking it as RCs seems to dodge the ADT penalty for no/low play, at least in my experience. I generally save the RC’s up and exchange them at the 1:1 conversion rate for use in the Caesars Online casino/Sportsbook. I get to double dip because Trop resets tomorrow morning, so I’ll snag the next batch before rolling back up to Lost Wages in the early afternoon to check into a place I’ve never been to before, in fact I don’t believe I’ve even been by it! Any guesses on where that will be? Hint, it’s a Boyd Property.

I have the best intentions at keeping this going and as live as possible. I have tried and failed in the past at these and have avoided even attempting another TR for a couple years now, once I land my phone and anything involving my phone is generally an afterthought, but let’s see how it goes!
