LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas gaming company faces a cease-and-desist demand after Nevada regulators accused them of producing live gaming content without the necessary license.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) announced Thursday it had issued a cease-and-desist demand to Playgon Interactive, Inc. and Bitrate Productions, its affiliate. Per that demand, the companies would be forced to “cease production of live dealer content from a studio located in Las Vegas, NV.”

That studio, just southeast of Harry Reid Internation Airport, is alleged to have used live dealers in Las Vegas to deal baccarat and roulette in broadcasts used in online casinos around the world, according to the cease-and-desist demand.

“The NGCB advised Playgon that Bitrate’s activity requires appropriate licensing, which Bitrate does not possess, from the Nevada Gaming Commission,” a Thursday news release said.

Bitrate’s activity, the release said, was initially not required to have Nevada Gaming Commission licensing due to the company’s product being “used for entertainment purposes only.” At some point, however, the NGCB said Bitrate’s “activities went beyond social gaming.”

Playgon and Bitrate are required to stop the alleged unlicensed activity by 5 p.m. on Friday or face “potential criminal or civil actions.”
