Next time you touch down in Las Vegas, you could head right for passenger pick-up — or you could lean into the Vegas of it all by hitting the slot machine next to the gate and dragging your suitcase over to the Vegas Born Bar & Grill. Harry Reid International Airport opened a new restaurant and it’s dedicated to Las Vegas’ first and only locally born major sports franchise.
Located near gate D51, the Vegas Golden Knights-themed restaurant celebrates the championship-winning team with a life-size knight and photos and memorabilia of the team. In sports bar fashion, the bar serves game-day staples like wings, cheese fries, soft pretzels, burgers, and pizza. Golden Knights founder Bill Foley stocks the bar with his vineyard’s Foley Family Wines but beer and cocktails are also on the menu.
Vegas Born opened yesterday with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Knight’s gila monster mascot, headdress-clad showgirls, and the team’s Drumbots. Vegas Born is open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight.
The Mad Hatter Lures You Into a Wonderland Teatime
Las Vegas gets another high-tech immersive attraction and this one kicks off with an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party. Pastry chef Keris Kuwana, who previously appeared on Chopped Gold Medal Games: Baking and designed the charmingly decorated doughnuts at Donutique, leads the tea service with mushroom-shaped desserts and tiny sandwiches. Cookies are appropriately labeled “Eat Me” and beverages demand to be sipped. An orange yuzu semifredo frozen dessert is enrobed in meringue and shaped like a mushroom, plated alongside a chocolate rock.
It’s hosted at the Electric Playhouse at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, with motion-activated imagery and walls, floors, and tables that come to life with projection mapping. Even Mad Hatter and Rabbit make an appearance. Teatime in Wonderland takes place every Friday through Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets start at $150 for adults and $120 for children ages 12 and under.
