UNLV basketball’s Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn is the Mountain West conference’s player of the week after averaging 30 points over two games, including a thrilling 86-83 overtime win Friday at Boise State.

The junior guard delivered a career-high 36 points in Friday night’s comeback victory at Boise State, scoring 25 of those points in the second half to help UNLV erase a 23-point deficit. He hit the game-tying 3-pointer with 38 seconds remaining in regulation and single-handedly outscored the Broncos 22-19 over the final 11:25 of regulation.

The 36-point performance marked UNLV’s highest individual scoring total in a game since Bryce Hamilton scored 42 points at Colorado State in 2022.

Gibbs-Lawhorn played all 45 minutes against Boise State, shooting 13 of 22 from the field, including 6 of 12 from 3-point range. He also made all four of his free throw attempts while adding three rebounds and two steals.

In Tuesday’s win over San Jose State, the junior played all 40 minutes and scored a game-high 24 points with five assists, four rebounds and three steals. He shot 10 of 19 from the field, including 4 of 8 on 3-pointers.

For the week, Gibbs-Lawhorn shot 56.1% from the field (23 of 41) and 50% on 3-pointers (10 of 20) while averaging 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

Gibbs-Lawhorn transferred to UNLV from Illinois prior to this season. His Player of the Week honor was the second for UNLV this season, following freshman Tyrin Jones’ Freshman of the Week recognition on Dec. 23.
