Las Vegas experienced its fifth warmest year on record in 2025 with an average temperature of 71.8 degrees — 1.7 degrees above normal — according to data released Sunday by the National Weather Service.

The year shattered 38 temperature records, including 29 high minimum temperatures, seven high maximum temperatures and two low maximum temperatures.

Among the noteworthy milestones: December became the warmest on record, while May emerged as the wettest. The year also marked the first time since 2011 that Las Vegas avoided a low temperature of 90 degrees or above.

Las Vegas saw 77 days with temperatures at or above 100 degrees — 35 fewer than in 2024.

The mercury peaked at 112 degrees twice during the summer heat, on July 14 and Aug. 12. At the opposite extreme, temperatures plunged to 29 degrees on Jan. 21, with three days dropping to or below freezing.

Precipitation totaled 5.41 inches compared to a normal of 4.18 inches, making 2025 the 19th wettest year on record.
