Suppose you’ve driven down Spring Mountain recently. In that case, you’ve definitely noticed it: the large, silent stretch of dirt sitting right between the Bank of America and the plaza home to Japan Market Fukuya. For years, this lot (officially APN 162-18-506-001) has sat vacant—a missing tooth in the smiling skyline of Chinatown.

The long block wall on Spring Mountain is widely rumored to be the future site of a massive new Chinatown plaza.

But the silence might be broken soon.

This Week in Chinatown has obtained exclusive access to preliminary site plans that hint at a major transformation for this 6+ acre parcel. While these plans are still in the early, unconfirmed stages, the blueprints reveal a vision for a sprawling, pedestrian-friendly complex that would connect Spring Mountain Road directly through to Pioneer Avenue. The Pioneer Ave side will be from Wynn Rd to Valley View Blvd

What the Rumored Plans Reveal:

• The Scope: Six distinct buildings (labeled A through F) centered around a landscaped pedestrian corridor.
