I got home from Vegas 3 days ago, and had no plans to go back until December….Then I was persuaded to come back, and I figured I’ll make a week out of it. I’ll be working remotely from the hotel (Horseshoe) during the day, and doing Vegas by night. The girlfriend is still in Europe, and it’s so lonely here at home…so, off to Vegas!

But, I am very unprepared for this. I still need to pack my suitcase, backpack, drones, work stuff, etc. And I need to get the car prepped, mattress put in, blankets and pillow…because this is a roadtrip. It just didn’t seem worth it to fly, and having a car for a long Vegas trip is great.

I’ll be working all day tomorrow (Thursday) and leaving after work, hopefully around 6PM and take Friday off. I am optimistically hoping to get to Las Vegas by Friday afternoon…it all depends how far I get Thursday night, which depends on how well an upgrade we’re running Thursday at 5PM goes. 🥴

Anyway, let’s talk about the hotels!

I’m booked in a standard room at Rio for the 26th – 29th, and at Horeshoe in a Resort Executive Suite for the 28th through the 4th. I have a day of overlap just so I’m not “homeless” for any part of the stay, and so I don’t feel rushed to get out of Rio in case I want to stick around longer for any reason.

The plans:
Meeting with my coworker (or two) one day to go to the range
Working all day 😥
Maybe see a show or two?
Light gambling
Convince @AlPal to fly a drone with me?
Play Magic the Gathering
Maybe Jerry’s Nugget? I dunno…could be fun…

The stats:
Rio: 2188 TC, no reward points, $50 freeplay, $15 dining credit, plus whatever the daily drink things are worth (if they ever work).
CET: 121,139 TC, 29,388 RCs. No freeplay/offers I know of, but I do have the $100 diamond dinner to use plus the 4 daily drinks.

Bankroll: I’m gonna start out with just $4364. I might get some more later in the trip, depending on how quickly that goes poof. 🤣

The concerns:
Wifi speed: If Horseshoe ends up having terrible wifi, I’ll have to figure something out.
Food: I have back to back to back to back meetings, all around lunchtime. I’ll either need to shift my eating schedule, or find something quick for lunch (<20 mins) at Horseshoe.

Anyway, this is a very spur-of-the-moment trip. Just one more long workday, and I’m Vegasbound! I’ll have to be a lot more “responsible” this trip since I’m working the whole time, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun, right?View attachment 539250
