A vibrant gateway to what’s next — Chinatown Vegas prepares to unveil its newest additions.

Chinatown’s Scene Heats Up
Spring Mountain Road is buzzing with new eats, nightlife, and a bold vision for our district. Get ready for these game-changing additions!

Chinatown’s Redevelopment Takes Shape!
Big news, Chinatown Fam! On July 1, 2025, Clark County launched a 10+ year plan to transform our district, led by Commissioner Justin Jones.

This isn’t just talk—phase one kicks off by Lunar New Year 2026 with a pedestrian walkway linking Chinatown Plaza and Shanghai Plaza. Phases two and three will deliver wider sidewalks, vibrant murals, lush trees, and safer roads, making Spring Mountain a global destination.

Chinatownvegas.com has championed this vision for over a decade, but community gripes highlight urgent needs: a 35 mph speed limit, no left turns from strip malls, fixed traffic lines, and patched potholes. These fixes are critical to keep our streets safe and welcoming now, not just in the future.

Kudos to Jones for driving this project! Stay tuned for updates in September at www.chinatownvegas.com.

  • VT Mania, Pho Saigonese, Jones Station Karaoke: VT Mania teases a mysterious (possibly Vietnamese) spot, Pho Saigonese offers pho in the former Lamoon space with a soft opening soon, and Jones Station Karaoke brings sing-along nights, all on Spring Mountain Rd.
  • 168 Market Plaza Rebuild: Post-fire, the Spring Mountain Center near 168 Market reborn with new stores, boosting Chinatown’s retail vibe. Check chinatownvegas.com for updates!

Chinatown Advisory Council: Your Voice, Our Future

Chinatown has long faced challenges—from limited parking and traffic congestion to a lack of direct representation. In response, a new grassroots effort is forming: the Chinatown Advisory Council, a dedicated committee created to help address community concerns through action and collaboration.

The council will meet monthly to discuss issues impacting the Chinatown district and work toward real solutions. Twelve founding members—representing a diverse cross-section of business owners, residents, and cultural leaders—have already committed to serve.

Plans are underway to expand the group to 15 total members to allow for broader input and stronger representation.

Why 15?

Diverse Voices: More members mean wider representation across businesses, age groups, and community sectors.

Greater Capacity: The council can take on more initiatives without overburdening individuals.

Stronger Solutions: A broader range of perspectives leads to more creative, practical outcomes.

🚩 Chinatown Gripes

This week brings both celebration and urgent concerns for Chinatown. We’re thrilled that July 1st officially marked the start of the Chinatown redevelopment! We applaud Commissioner Jones for his strong support, a huge step forward for our community.

However, immediate action is still needed. While redevelopment projects are ongoing, we demand emergency “patch” repairs for the dangerous potholes now. This is an emergency, impacting daily commutes and posing significant safety hazards.

Furthermore, we must reiterate our long-standing plea to lower the speed limit on Spring Mountain Road to 35 MPH. Recent tragic motorcycle accidents near Spring Mountain and Decatur, echoing past fatalities, highlight the perilous environment created by high speeds in our bustling community. This isn’t a new concern; it’s an ongoing danger.

Given the history of severe accidents and increasing traffic, we urge an expedited process for this crucial safety measure. Lowering the speed limit would be an immediate step towards greater safety and can be implemented sooner.

Finally, we welcome the formation of the “Chinatown Advisory Council.” We hope they champion these immediate safety concerns as top priorities. The safety of our community cannot wait. Lowering the speed limit and repairing potholes are emergency measures long overdue.
