Las Vegas-based Tacotarian has achieved a significant milestone in the fast-casual dining industry, earning recognition on Fast Casual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers of 2024 list alongside restaurant powerhouses like Sweetgreen, Shake Shack and Chipotle.
The plant-based Mexican eatery distinguished itself as the only fully vegan concept to make this year’s prestigious industry ranking, which honors the most innovative and impactful brands in fast-casual dining.
“Being recognized alongside some of the biggest names in the industry is incredibly validating,” said co-founder Kristen Corral. “As a mission-driven brand, it means the world to be seen not just as a vegan restaurant, but as a force in fast-casual overall.”
The recognition comes as Tacotarian announces the launch of its national franchise program, marking a significant expansion phase for the award-winning, Latin and women-owned restaurant brand.
Founded in 2018 by two husband-and-wife teams, Tacotarian has built its reputation on what it calls the “largest selection of vegan tacos in the universe,” blending authentic Mexican flavors with modern plant-based ingredients. The concept has garnered national attention and accolades from VegNews, Yelp, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, which recently named the founders Nevada Small Business Persons of the Year.
“Franchising is our way of scaling impact,” explained co-founder Regina Simmons. “We’re not just building taco shops, we’re building a movement rooted in community, sustainability, and craveable food that just happens to be plant-based.”
Currently operating six locations across Las Vegas and San Diego, Tacotarian’s franchise model promises comprehensive support, streamlined systems, robust marketing plans, and the backing of what the company describes as a nationally recognized brand with cult-favorite appeal.
The expansion comes at a time when plant-based dining options are gaining mainstream acceptance, with Tacotarian positioning itself to capitalize on growing consumer interest in sustainable, health-conscious fast-casual options.
