LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Enduring for over a century, the idea of Las Vegas was celebrated by leading figureheads who outlined their own vision for the city’s future.
The 120-year anniversary of Las Vegas’ founding was toasted at the Circa Resort & Casino’s Legacy Club and hailed as an unbelievable triumph as the metro area is projected to reach 3 million residents by 2050.
“Honestly, I would rather be the mayor of a community that has growth related challenges than be worried about losing population,” Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley said.
The acknowledgement of growth came with nods to continued projects in Downtown, Midtown, and East Fremont. Circa owner Derek Stevens answered questions about the activity from Tre Builders on his land at Symphony Park—labeled “Circa 2.”

“I can tell you right now, it’s a construction lot, we’re working on the deal,” Stevens said. “We’re going to be a good neighbor to the Cello Tower that’s going up. We’re, negotiating a two and a half year lease so they can utilize the land that we have in Symphony Park as a construction lot, which lowers their cost quite a bit to build that project.”
Stevens was asked about the plans for his lot after they finish their neighborly deal with Cello Tower.

“We’ve got a couple things where we’re cooking on but nothing yet,” he said. “It’s just too early, something exciting. The land in Symphony Park. That’s the last land really zoned for gaming.”
As for an announcement on when the “Circa 2” property will see action, Stevens said fans will have to wait a bit longer.
“We’ll have an announcement, but we’re still years away from that,” he said.
