LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police are looking for one or more people responsible for killing a man in North Las Vegas Sunday.

The North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) responded to a call around 2 a.m. at the apartment complex near the 2100 block of Bassler Street, located near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive.

Officers found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead. Police said the injuries were caused by a battery involving a deadly weapon.

The suspect(s) left the area before officers arrived, police said. Detectives are now actively investigating this case.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity, along with the cause and manner of death, once the next of kin are notified.
