LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A homeowner was stabbed and killed while sleeping in their home in the south Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

The stabbing occurred Monday in a home in the 10700 block of Wildhurst Street near Bermuda Road and Cactus Avenue.

Police said a relative of the homeowner went inside and started looking through the rooms. In one of the rooms he found a knife and began to stab the homeowner who was asleep on the couch.

The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital and police arrested the suspect.
