LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A vehicle hit a woman crossing the street in the central Las Vegas valley Friday, leaving her in critical condition, police said.
Las Vegas Metro police responded to the crash around 7 p.m. near East Oakey and South Las Vegas boulevards.
According to police, a 2021 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Oakey Boulevard with a green light when the woman crossing the street came into its path. Police said she entered the marked crosswalk on the east side of the intersection, crossing from north to south against the pedestrian signal, and that’s when she was hit.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and took the 43-year-old woman to a nearby hospital for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford stayed on scene, cooperated with police, and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
This crash remains under investigation.
