LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Drivers in the Las Vegas valley heading to Harry Reid International Airport over the next few weeks will need to plan for extra travel time as upcoming lane reductions and road closures are set to take place.
According to Harry Reid International Airport, beginning Sunday, select sections of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 roadways will be reduced to a single lane while workers perform lighting repairs. The upgrades will replace existing lights with energy-efficient LED fixtures.
The work is scheduled to take place Sunday through Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., with no full closures planned. The project wraps up on Thursday, May 22, at 4 a.m.
Rolling work zones, bumper trucks, and safety barricades will be in place to guide traffic and protect workers.
More Construction Ahead at Paradise and Russell
Another major traffic alert begins later this month as part of the High-T Intersection project, which will impact drivers near Paradise Road and Russell Road.
Starting Sunday, April 27, at 8 p.m., both directions of Paradise Road will be reduced to a single lane. In addition, Russell Road will be fully closed between Paradise Road and Maryland Parkway for paving operations.
That construction will continue through Friday, May 2, at 5 p.m.
Officials are urging drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes, as delays are expected in the area.
