LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — UNLV announced the firing of men’s basketball head coach Kevin Kruger Saturday.
The team had a 17-14 record in its 2024-25 campaign. The Rebels achieved an 11-9 record in the Mountain West Conference, placing sixth without postseason prospects
“After evaluating the program as a whole, I believe a change is necessary to achieve these goals,” said Erick Harper, UNLV director of athletics, adding appreciation for the team’s achievements during Kruger’s run as coach.
“Our expectation is to contend for and win championships,” Harper said. “After evaluating the program as a whole, I believe a change is necessary to achieve these goals.”
Kruger spent four seasons as the head coach of the Rebels.
