LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — If Sunset Road is part of your ride anywhere between Reid Airport and Sunset Park, consider this a heads-up for the entire 4-mile stretch.

Starting Wednesday, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is giving Sunset Road a much-needed pothole and general pavement fix-up from Las Vegas Boulevard to Paradise Road and the Airport Connector to Sunset Park at Eastern Avenue and further east past McLeod Drive to Pecos Road.

It’s not a full-time nightmare on the entire stretch. NDOT says you should expect rolling lane restrictions in both directions between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day except Saturday and Sunday through next Thursday.

NDOT officials advise that the schedule is subject to change.

If you want to skip the whole thing, there’s always Tropicana Avenue to the north and Warm Springs Road to the south.

Buckle up, drive carefully – and please put down that phone!
