LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 911 call captured the moment a Las Vegas father turned his son into police after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, according to documents 8 News Now obtained.

A Clark County grand jury indicted Markeem Benson, 29, on Jan. 14 on charges of open murder with the use of a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, records said.

8 News Now obtained the 911 calls as part of evidence Clark County prosecutors showed to the grand jury.

“Have them meet me at this Buffalo Wild Wings, we’re on Centennial,” Eric Benson, Markeem’s father, told a 911 dispatcher on Dec. 22. “Ma’am, I believe there’s been, there’s a murder ma’am, I can’t even think straight. Just send police to Buffalo Wild Wings.”

North Las Vegas police officers responded on Dec. 22 to a shooting at an apartment in the 120 block of East Rome Boulevard near East Centennial Parkway.

According to police, Benson shot 33-year-old Renise Wolfe in the back of the head. Wolfe was a beloved Las Vegas tattoo artist.

“His girlfriend. They got into it, and they tussled with the gun. She, she, it went off. And he said she’s dead,” Eric Benson told the dispatcher.

Benson could be heard in his father’s 911 call saying that the shooting happened the night prior.

According to NLVPD, Benson claimed he shot and killed Wolfe in self-defense. But doorbell video shown to the grand jury indicted Benson undercuts that notion.

“I just almost want to kill you, [expletive]. I just want to kill yo’ ass,” Benson is heard saying on the video as he was seen entering Wolfe’s apartment.

Several videos captured within a few hours of each other on Dec. 22 showed him in different clothing. Crime scene photos from NLVPD of Wolfe’s apartment showed Benson’s alleged attempt to wipe up the blood.

Her mother, Tracy Coleman, told 8 News Now that her daugher and Benson had only been dating for five months.

“He shot her while she was laying on the ground. In a fetal position, behind the ear. What does that tell you?” Tracy Coleman said on Dec. 24.

According to police, Wolfe was shot once in her hand and her head, which investigators said is consistent with Benson standing over Wolfe.

Benson was scheduled to appear in Clark County District Court on Feb. 6.
