LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Gov. Joe Lombardo will give his 2025 State of the State Address on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m., according to a Friday statement from the governor’s office.
The speech is scheduled two weeks before the 2025 Nevada Legislature convenes in Carson City — a tradition in state government.
“I look forward to sharing the progress my administration has made since my inaugural address, and I’m excited to outline my common-sense vision for our state ahead of the upcoming legislative session,” Lombardo said.
“We’ve worked hard to keep taxes low, balance our state budget, and make historic investments in our students and workforce. As we look ahead, I’m eager to build on our progress in education, economic development, healthcare, housing, and public safety,” he said.
Lombardo, a Republican, vetoed a record 75 bills advanced by the Democrat-majority Legislature in 2023. But he also signed pay raises for teachers and government employees, along with funding for a stadium to host the former Oakland A’s, who are expected to play in Las Vegas beginning in 2028.
