Spring Break Safari at Springs Preserve
Monday, March 11 – Sunday, March 17, 9am -4pm
The Springs Preserve will be open daily during Spring Break including Tuesday and Wednesday.
Spring Break Safari will feature daily programming included with your general admission all week, including:
- Bird Beak Adaptations (Daily at 11am)
Learn how bird beaks have adapted to suit their unique diets and environment. After a short bird walk in the Springs Preserve gardens, participants will practice their own bird beak skills with an experimental activity! - Toddler Time: Spring Flowers (Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 11am)
Celebrate the Spring season with a cheery storytime for little kids and a blooming take-home craft!
- Behind-the-Scenes Zoology Clinic Tour (Daily at 12pm)
From the vinegaroons to Gila monsters, learn more about Mojave Desert animals and how Springs Preserve zoologists take care of our animal collection.
- Conservation for Kids: Deserts (Daily at 1pm)
Do we live in a barren, dusty wasteland? No way! The Mojave Desert is a complex and rich ecosystem with its own unique animals, soil, waterways, and plants. Learn more about how we can take steps to conserve our home environment.
- Drop-in Demonstrations (Daily at various times throughout the day)
Learn more about the world around us with free and fun activities throughout the property. Meet with our experts as they share information on a variety of subjects ranging from Archaeology, Gardens, Zoology, and more!
- Audio-guided Full-loop Train Ride Tours (Daily on the hour from 10am to 3pm)
Plus regular programming at The Springs Preserve including:
Toddler Time
Monday, Thursday, Friday: 11am – 12pm
Conservation for Kids
Saturday and Sunday: 11 am and 1 pm
Drop in for a 15-30 minute interactive activity where kids can explore the importance of conservation
Ride the Train
On the hour, 9am – 3pm during open hours
Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve.
Crack a Geode & Fossil Dig
Fossil Dig and Crack a Geode activities are $5 for Springs Preserve members or $6 for non-members.
SPRINGS CAFE
9am – 330pm
The Springs Café offers exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers, and libations at the Springs Preserve. Made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
Springs Preserve Membership
Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available.
