LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is dead after driving the wrong way and crashing into a metal guardrail near Pahrump, Nevada State Police officials said.

Around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to the crash report near State Route 160 and Mile Marker 25, about 15 miles south of Pahrump.

Authorities said the driver was traveling in the wrong direction, heading westbound in the eastbound lanes. The man crashed with a metal guardrail as he attempted to leave the eastbound lane.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, NSP said.
