LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Changes are coming to an iconic property on the Las Vegas Strip.
MGM Resorts International and Marriott International, Inc. announced plans to covert the current Delano Las Vegas, which sits on the Mandalay Bay campus, to the W Hotels brand within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, according to MGM Resorts International.
The announcement was made on Monday, and the conversion is expected to be completed later in 2024, with additional plans for the property to be announced in the future.
W Las Vegas marks the latest step in the companies’ long-term strategic licensing agreement announced in July 2023.
With the addition of W Las Vegas, MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy will encompass 12
destinations on the Las Vegas Strip, including Bellagio, a Luxury Collection Resort & Casino, ARIA
Resort & Casino, Autograph Collection, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection, and Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, MGM Collection, among others.
The Delano Las Vegas officially opened on September 2, 2014. Before that the property was called THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, which opened in 2003.
