LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Las Vegas implosions have led to developments from parking lots to sprawling resorts.

Hotel and casino implosions in and around the Strip date back over thirty years. Thirteen properties collapsed into clouds of dust to make way for the Las Vegas Strip we now have, with the dirt lot across from the Wynn included.

The 14th will see the Tropicana’s towers disappear, with over one ton of explosives making way for the new baseball stadium to be built.

As for the dirt lot, the existing plan is for a third Wynn tower. The plan has been in place since 2018, and in June of this year, Clark County’s Zoning Commission voted to extend that plan until 2026.
