LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On Monday morning, the City of Henderson will start repairing the water distribution system at Somerset Park.

Massive water leaks and sinkholes have been at the center of a dispute between Somerset Park residents and their HOA Board. Now, a plan is set in place to address the mess.

Construction to replace the water distribution system at Somerset Park will begin on Sept. 16 and will take about 45 days to complete. As a part of the project, underground water services that have failed or have the potential to fail will be replaced.

Residents can stay in their homes, but they may encounter some disruptions. Water services are expected to be interrupted for approximately two to six hours for each building unit.

Additionally, on Sept. 16 and 17 in the evening, the community’s water will be turned off intermittently between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Construction is scheduled to occur at two other locations within the community: near the intersections of Haren Drive and Kristin Lane, and Sunset Road and Natalee Drive. Work on the project is expected to occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The city is hoping for limited disruption to water services during this time. Advance notice will be provided to residents for both construction work and water disruptions.
