Metro’s Traffic Bureau posted photos on social media showing some of the results of breathalyzer tests given to motorists over the weekend. In Nevada, the legal level for driving is 0.08%.

Metro police said this effort was considered the first-ever “Super DUI Blitz” because it involved mobilizing 10 area commands to crack down on impaired drivers. Metro said it wanted to make it a safe holiday weekend.

In the 24 hours before the holiday weekend, police reported there were three fatal crashes and two of them involved suspected DUI drivers. Since the beginning of 2024, there have been 100 traffic-related fatalities.
