Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran International Airport) is just a few miles from the Las Vegas Strip, and on a normal day it’s not difficult to get from the airport to your hotel. For example the Bellagio is about 3 miles and a 15 minute drive away – we’re going to give you the best options to reach your on or off strip hotel, and give you an estimate of how much it’s going to cost to get there.

So without further ado, here are the….

Top 5 Ways To Get From The Airport To The Strip Or Your Hotel In Vegas

Ride Sharing Services

Uber and Lyft are widely available in Las Vegas, they’re often the most popular and convenient option for most travellers to Vegas.

The pick-up areas are clearly marked at the airport – one Reddit user even says that “Vegas has the most organized Uber pickups among US airports“. You can pre-book from your phone and you can track your journey from start to finish. The downside is that prices vary based on demand, but are competitive with local taxis.

Use our table to see how much your Uber or Lyft would cost, you can start typing in the search box to filter for your hotel.

Taxis

For those less comfortable with ride-sharing apps taxis are still a reliable option. You can get into a taxi at designated tax stands outside the baggage claim area.

The Nevada Taxicab Authority has a handy guide for how much a fixed rate ride costs from the airport to specific locations. The cab driver may ask you if you want to take a metered ride, but we recommend politely declining to avoid being taken on a longer route that costs more money.

Another pro tip is that if the driver asks you if this is your “first time in Vegas“, then you say “no“. (If it is really your first time, then you should check out our guide to Vegas first timers).

If the taxi driver asks you should also politely decline their offer of going through the tunnel.

Based on the Nevada Taxicab Authority’s guide our interactive table will give you an estimate of how much it will cost to get from the airport to your hotel.

Just start typing your hotel’s name in the search bar to filter.

Airport Shuttles

This is the most economic option when you are traveling alone.

It is cheap, usually between $10-$15 however, it has two major drawbacks.

You will need to wait until the shuttle is filled before it leaves the airport and secondly, as all other occupants will usually be heading to different hotels your trip may involve multiple stops, increasing travel time.

If you’re unlucky and your hotel is at the end of the route then it can take a long time to get to your destination – so if you’re in a group, avoid the Airport Shuttle and just split the cost for a ride sharing service, a taxi, or what we’re about to show you next.

Limousines

Get to your hotel in style in a limo.

Las Vegas Limousine

If you’re traveling in a group for around $150 (divided by the number of people in your group), you can get a limo with a driver.

Most companies will let you stop by the “welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” sign, drive you along the strip to help you get a vibe for the city before dropping you at your hotel. Most limousine companies in Vegas will give you a deal and take you back to the airport when you leave vegas too.

It’s recommended to book online, but you can also find one when you arrive at the airport.

Rental Cars

You can also always rent your own car.

All major rental companies have desks at the airport, but one thing to be aware of is hotel parking fees, which can be quite hefty on the strip.

When you combine the cost of gas, parking fees and the cost of the car rental itself, this is by far the most expensive option (hence it’s last on the list), and probably not the wisest thing to do if you’re visiting Vegas on a budget
