LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With Las Vegas being a hot spot destination for entertainment and now sports, the City of Henderson has partnered up with KemperSports to build a new indoor sports facility.
“I love the idea,” Henderson resident, Sheila Williams said. “This area is really growing so it’s a good spot for it, I think.”
Known as, The West Henderson Fieldhouse, the 180,000-square-foot Community Recreation Hub will have indoor courts, hybrid turf fields, and rooms designed to host events and dining. Located right off of St. Rose and Maryland parkways.
Parents like Brianna Munoz said an indoor sporting facility like this is a much-needed addition to the area.
“It’s hard because I have to take my daughter across town for gymnastics. I feel like she will benefit from this a lot. She might even end up doing a sport there instead of having to go all the way across town,” Brianna Munoz said.
Construction to the premier sports and entertainment facility will begin soon and other Henderson locals like Melinda Casem say with these scorching temperatures, it’ll be a great place for kids and families to find some relief while still staying active.
“Anything that is softball or volleyball, any type of sport, it’s always a family activity and it’s going to motivate your kids. It’s just about getting them out and about,” Casem shared.
Final approval for The West Henderson Fieldhouse was presented at the Henderson City Council meeting in July. The facility is scheduled to open in 2026.
In addition to sports, this facility will have a variety of family entertainment from bowling to laser tag to mini golf.
