LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Family, friends, and fellow residents all gathered at the Riverbend Village Apartments on Wednesday evening to remember Vincent Herrera and Kameron Moore.
“They were so young, and they had their lives ahead of them. It’s a tragedy really,” friend Danielle Abella said.
Both men died in a raging fire that erupted Sunday night at the complex located near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.
Vincent’s mother, Ronise Herrera, hosted a vigil for both men, and the entire parking lot was filled with emotion and support.
“I live in California and I came here so I could be here for Vincent. He was a good friend and I feel like he would’ve done it for me,” Abella shared.
Friends and family of Kameron Moore also spoke out for the first time after learning about his passing.
“There’s like these diamonds that you find in these rough places and he was one of them and he was determined, and he had so much to give,” Victoria Brown shared.
Moore’s cousin, Tony DiAngilo said he just wanted the best for everyone and also shared that Moore and Herrera were soon going to visit Moore’s hometown to meet the rest of his family.
“They were getting ready to take a trip back to Ohio, in September. Kameron was really excited to take that trip and show Vincent his life,” DiAngilo said.
Investigators still haven’t determined what started the fire however both families want answers.
“I’d like to know what happened and how it happened and what caused this. There are a lot of questions,” DiAngilo added.
