LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — There are numerous solar energy farms scattered around southern Nevada to capture the sun’s rays and create clean energy.
On Tuesday, a grand opening ceremony will celebrate a new solar tracker factory that will manufacture the solar steel tubes needed for solar panels to track the sun to produce more energy.
Unimacts, a contract manufacturing and supply chain solutions company focused on renewable energy, and its customer Nextracker, are hosting an opening ceremony for the new, 160,000-square-foot steel factory. It’s Unimacts second solar steel factory to open in the Las Vegas valley in the last 10 months.
The two combined factories will support nearly 2 GW of new solar power this year, equivalent to the energy used by about 400,000 homes over a year. The two factories employ 125 workers.
