LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 150-acre wildfire is burning in the mountains about 20 miles southwest of Las Vegas.
According to Nevada Wildfire Information, the fire in Blue Springs was reported around 11:40 a.m. and is south of State Route 160 where it intersects with State Route 159 near Late Night Trailhead. The closest town is Mountain Springs.
As of Monday evening, the fire is estimated at 150 acres, according to Nevada Wildfire Information. The Bureau of Land Management said four engines, two Single Engine Air Tankers, and one air attack, totaling about 30 firefighters, were assigned to the fire. As of 7:35 p.m., the fire is at 15% containment, according to BLM.
At this time, the fire is no threat to any structures and no roads are closed.
The Bureau of Land Management said the fire was caused by a human and is under investigation.
