LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An 86-year-old Las Vegas man has died a month after a suspected DUI driver hit him, police said.

The crash happened on Feb. 28 around 2 p.m. near East Bonanza Road and North Nellis Boulevard. According to Las Vegas Metro police, the man was walking outside of a “marked crosswalk” when a 2017 Nissan Rogue, traveling east on Nellis, hit him.

The Nissan hit the left side of the man, and he was pushed out into the roadway. Emergency personnel arrived and took the man to a nearby hospital. On March 26, the man died in hospice care.

The driver, identified as Dana Anderson, 62, showed signs of impairment at the scene and was arrested, police said. She faces a charge of DUI involving alcohol and/or a controlled substance, according to court records.

Anderson was not due in court until June.

The man’s death marks the 46th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2025.
