LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman died early Saturday morning from injuries she sustained in a Friday afternoon crash in North Las Vegas, according to police.
Around 1:35 p.m. Friday, North Las Vegas police responded to the area of Losee and Washburn roads after a report of a crash involving two vehicles.
When officers arrived they found a 76-year-old woman trapped inside a silver Mazda. She was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, police said.
According to North Las Vegas police, a Hyundai was driving southbound on Losee Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Washburn Road while the Mazda was driving northbound on Losee. The crash occurred when the Hyundai made the turn in front of the Mazda.
Both the driver and a 14-year-old passenger of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Speed or impairment are not believed to be factors however, charges are expected to be brought against the driver of the Hyundai for failure to yield the right of way and vehicular manslaughter.
