LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Four people were killed when the driver of a pickup truck towing a travel trailer attempted to pass a car and struck the front of an oncoming RV towing a flatbed trailer, Nevada Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The crash, which happened on U.S. Highway 6 near Ely on May 30, caused both vehicles to erupt into flames and all four occupants, two in each vehicle, died at the scene. The identities of the deceased are being withheld at this time, troopers said.

The crash is under investigation.
