LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 32-year-old Bullhead City, Arizona, man remained in custody Wednesday after shootings that sent two people to a Las Vegas hospital.

Andrew Allen Adams faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The shootings were reported at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday when a 27-year-old woman went to Adams’ residence to retrieve her cat, according to information provided by Bullhead City police. Adams lives in the 1900 block of Orca Lane in a neighborhood just east of the Colorado River. Bullhead City is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.

The woman told police that Adams had invited her to the residence.

Police did not identify the shooting victims, only saying they were a 33-year-old man who was shot in the head and a female, apparently the woman who went to get her cat, who was shot “in her chest area.” Both were transported to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

According to police, Adams reportedly fired a weapon toward a vehicle when the female victim got out and approached the residence. The man in the vehicle then grabbed a rifle and got into a verbal dispute with Adams.

Police said Adams reportedly fired shots in their direction. The woman ran from the scene and was found on a street just north of the residence.

Adams was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, police said. Jail records indicate he has not been released.
