LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two Las Vegas officers were honored for their “selfless actions” after discovering seven children locked in a closet.
LVMPD Officers David Foster and Michael Ross responded to a report of suspect squatters but later found seven frightened children locked in a closet, with the older siblings caring for the younger ones.
The officers calmed the children, played music for the toddlers, and went to purchase food after the children said they had not eaten in some time.

The officers’ selfless actions that brought comfort and reassurance to the group of children facing heartbreaking circumstances embodied the values of LVMPD’s Good Ticket program, which honors LVMPD personnel who go above and beyond their sworn duties, LVMPD said in a post on X.
The officers were honored at the Good Ticket presentations hosted at Resorts World and both officers received complimentary accommodations, dining, and entertainment.
