LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – One person is dead and several others were hospitalized after police said the driver of a stolen vehicle sped through an east Las Vegas valley intersection causing a crash involving multiple vehicles.
It happened on Friday shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Pecos and Flamingo roads, Las Vegas police said.
The vehicle driven by the suspect in the crash was reported stolen earlier in the day. Police told 8 News Now the suspect was traveling at a high rate of speed west on Pecos Road when it hit a vehicle at Flamingo Road.
In total, the crash involved four vehicles. One person was taken to a hospital nearby and was later pronounced dead. A second person had serious injuries, and four other people also involved in the crash were hospitalized, police said.
Following the crash, the suspect left the scene on foot before police arrived at the scene of the crash.
