LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person was killed in a shooting near Harry Reid International Airport Friday night, according to police.
At around 9 p.m., Las Vegas Metro police received a 911 call reporting a shooting near the 6600 block of Gilespie Street on Sunset Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard, Lieutenant Robert Price said.
Lt. Price said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a person on the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical responders took the individual to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Following an investigation, Lt. Price said the victim and the suspect were seen arriving together in the same vehicle at a parking lot. After exiting, an argument between the two broke out, with the suspect pulling out a gun and shooting the victim.
The suspect then left the scene however, security officers in the area were able to locate the suspect. The suspect was then taken into custody without incident, Lt. Price said.
